The United Progressive People Alliance (U.P.P.A.) invites members of the media to cover a water relief initiative led by its Tshwane Mayoral Candidate, Abel Tau, who will donate 500 five-litre containers of drinking water, totalling 2,500 litres, to residents of Zithobeni Extension 5.

The initiative comes amid growing concern over reported gastrointestinal illnesses affecting Bronkhorstspruit and surrounding communities following serious water-quality concerns at the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Works.

Through this intervention, U.P.P.A. seeks to provide immediate relief to affected residents while drawing attention to the urgent need for safe, reliable drinking water and accountable municipal service delivery.

During the visit, Abel Tau will engage with community members, assess their immediate water needs and reaffirm U.P.P.A.’s commitment to quality basic services, responsive leadership and the protection of public health.

The initiative forms part of U.P.P.A.’s broader commitment to building communities, fixing failing services and restoring public trust in local government.
